Family Social Responsibility
We pride ourselves on achieving a work/life balance and as such, at Joseph Lopez LLP, the families of our lawyers and staff are of paramount importance.
We fundamentally believe in sharing the good fortune we derive from providing legal services by channelling our energy and skills towards bettering the lives of others. We encourage our lawyers, staff and their families to do their part in giving back to the community as a family unit. We work together as a close-knit unit to lend a helping hand to various organisations, not only through donations but also by engaging in initiatives that require our presence, time and energy. This has the dual result of aiding the beneficiaries and strengthening the sense of solidarity and family within the firm as well.
Guided by this principle of giving, the founder of the firm, Joseph Lopez, runs various initiatives to assist the needy in areas of education, food and other support. One such programme is the “Milk Project”, which was started in 2011. Through this initiative, we provide yearly supplies of milk for children at St Anne’s Orphanage in Taunggyi in Myanmar as well as various other orphanages in the country. A percentage of the firm’s profits goes towards these initiatives.
In 2015, staff of Joseph Lopez LLP will take on another initiative to help the children of Phyu Pie Handicap Home for Children & Adults in Kalaw, Myanmar. The plan is to send our staff and their families on a mission trip to Myanmar to teach the children.
Further medical and education projects for children are in the pipeline.
